Bride of Christ

Joseph Soliday | October 31st, 2020

Recently I have been going through a real tough time in my personal life and on Friday it all came to a head as I was overcome with a lot of hurt and sadness. Before going to bed, I called my parents to say hello. We ended the call with a prayer and my parents prayed that God would grant me peace and comfort and that He would give me a dream of encouragement. After falling asleep, I did not dream anything and woke up around 1 am to go to the bathroom as I normally do. As I made my way back to bed, I gave God thanks for His mercies and then I went back to bed. I then dreamt that I had just dropped my daughter off at school in the morning. As I was walking to my bike, a mother of one of the other children pointed up to the sky and said “Look!”. As I looked up into the partly cloudy skies, I could see streaks of light flying to and forth as if there was commotion going on in the heavens. I immediately knew in my spirit that these lights were angels preparing for the rapture. As some of these angels flew to the earth, I grabbed my bike and started riding as fast as I could back home. This is where it gets remarkably interesting: As I am riding my bike down the street, I realize how realistic this dream is as I could feel the wind against my face and smell the surrounding grass and trees. Although I knew I was in a dream, I could feel that my body was in bed sleeping. At this point I felt like I could wakeup if I wanted, but then I asked God: What is it that you want me to see God? After I asked that, I pulled over onto the sidewalk, parked my bike and jumped into the passenger side of a parked truck. Immediately a bright flash of light appeared in the sky and an angel appeared to me at the door of the truck. The angel was beautiful with white/golden hair. He grabbed me and took me upwards. As we were going up, I was engulfed in a bright light and felt immense peace. Suddenly, I appeared in a white room like a wardrobe with many pieces of clothes hanging on the wall such as t-shirts, blue jeans, and other clothing items. Suddenly the clothes turned into this beautiful, bright, and crystal-like sparkling wedding dress. The wedding dress itself was made of individual pieces, but all woven into one dress. Then as I passed through the dress there appeared before me a beautiful bride wearing this dress. She then fixed her gaze away from towards a white table and took a seat. Meanwhile the groom, wearing a splendid tuxedo took a seat at the table and both held hands and smiled at each other. I then woke up.

After waking up I immediately checked the time and it was 3:19, which in Strong’s Hebrew means “the after-part/end”:

Later that morning while getting ready for the day in the bathroom I asked God for the interpretation of the dream, specifically the last part with the wardrobe, wedding dress and bride and bridegroom. Here is what the Lord revealed to me:

  • The angel who carried me to heaven was the same angel who grabbed me during the rapture in my 9th rapture dream. His appearance was incredibly beautiful, but strong and masculine. It is hard to describe. Regardless, the fact that angels will carry us to heaven is Biblical as Jesus described this in the real life story, not parable, of Lazarus the beggar:

22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. (
    Luke 16:22  NKJV)
  • The clothing in the wardrobe represents our earthly bodies, which will be transformed into our resurrected bodies:

51 Behold, I tell you a [a]mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. (1 Corinthians 15:51-53 NKJV)
  • The wedding dress is interesting because in the dream it is made of individual pieces, but all woven into one dress. We know from the Bible that we are part of one body in Christ:

4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. (Romans 12:4-5 NKJV)

Furthermore, in the Bible Christians are referred to as the bride of Christ:

7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. (Revelation 19:7-8 NKJV)

In summary, the clothing in the wardrobe represent the bodies of Christians. The wedding dress represents the bodies of Christians after they are transformed into their resurrected bodies and arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright. The bride is then presented as a bride to Jesus and seated at the wedding table.

Finally, I would like to end with this:

4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” 5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said [a]to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” (Revelation 21:4-5 NKJV)
