Cristo El Único Dios

Christ the only God (the Almighty):

  1. Faith in Jesus is essential (John 20:28-1)
  2. You must believe that Jesus is God (John 1:1-18; 20:28,29)
    • The New World translation says that He was "a god" (v.1).
      • They are based on the construction of the Greek because there is no definitive article (the). But we have the exact same construction in v.6, 12, 13, 18 and they translate it simply "God" not "a god". The absence of the Greek article emphasizes his DIVINE NATURE, that Jesus is God in ESSENCE.
    • John 20:28, 29 Even in the Diaglot (Greek) that the witnesses use it reads: "My Lord, and My God." Jesus approved it.
  3. Jesus is equal to God
    • John 5: 18-23 Jesus is equal to the Father in nature, works, and honor. Does he believe it? Note: Isaiah 48:11
    • Colossians 2: 9 the New World translation declares that in Jesus dwells "all the fullness of the divine quality." (See Matthew 28:18)
  4. Jesus is a Creator, not created
    • Colossians 1: 15-17
      • The word “Firstborn” or sometimes does NOT mean “the first born”.
        • Psalm 89:27 David was not the first son (Samuel 17:13, 14) he is firstborn in rank that is his superiority and authority over the other kings of the earth.
        • Exodus 4:22 Israel was not the first nation
        • Genesis 27:36 Jacob removed the rank or position superior to his brother.
    • Colossians 1:15, 16 the New World translation ADDED the word "OTHER": "all (other) things."
    • John 1:3 Christ is not one of the things that came to existence
    • Revelation 3:14; in Revelation 1: 5 the New World translation translates the same Greek word: "The RULER" (he Has authority over creation). Because everything was created by Him (See Hebrews 1: 2-4).
    • Colossians 2:9 Is it a divine quality to be created or to be a Creator?
  5. Trinity: outside of all reality or existence God is revealed in essence as (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). Biblically known as deity (Colossians 2: 8, 9).
  6. Double nature of Christ (Philippians 2: 5-11).
  7. Christ is Yahweh (Jehova).
    • Exodus 3: 13-14. The phrase I AM is not the word Yahweh. However, it is derived from the verb "to be", from which the divine name Yahweh is also derived in Exodus 3:15. The title I AM THAT I AM is the most complete expression of its eternal user, briefed in verse 15 to the divine name of Yahweh. The Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Old Hebrew Testament, translated the first use of the phrase I AM in Exodus 3:14 as ego eimi. (Greek was the language spoken in the days of Jesus and it is the language in which the New Testament was written). Depending on the context, it was an energetic way of saying “I am” (as in John 9: 9), or it could be the name of God Himself, the eternal I AM. On several occasions Jesus used the term ego eimi of Himself as this can only be used of God. (John 8: 57-59; see Leviticus 24:16). (John 8:24,28; 18: 4-6)
  8. Christ is God. Theos (Greek); Elohim (Hebrew).
    • Hebrews 1: 8 is a direct quote from Psalm: 45: 6-7
    • 2 Peter 1: 1 (An appositive in Greek means that one noun or noun phrase is used with another as an equivalent explanatory). One article covers both nouns (God and Savior). The conjunction greiga y (Greek: Kai) joins the two nouns inseparably. This means that the appositive (the rename word), Jesus Christ, must refer to both God and Savior. Jesus Christ is our God and Savior.
    • The same construction in Titus 2:13.
    • Acts 2:36,39; 10:36
    • Acts 16:31, 34
    • Revelation 7: 10-12,17
    • Acts 18:25,26
    • Emanuel. Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23.
  9. The Alpha and the Omega: These terms give a beautiful and powerful description of God. Long before the stars filled the heavens and our universe existed, God was. It is from eternity to eternity. (Genesis 1:1). These names express the eternal nature of God. He is the source and goal of all creation. NO being created can ever correctly declare to be first and last.
    • God Jesus
      Isaiah 41:4 Revelation 1:17-18
      Isaiah 48:12 Revelation 2:8
      Revelation 1:8 Revelation 22:12-16
      Revelation 21: 6-7
  10. Lord: Adonai (Hebrew); Kurios (Septuagint and New Testament). 1 Corinthians 12: 1-6, 11, 18 In verse 3, Paul treated Spiritus, Jesus, and God on an equal basis. (Is. 45: 22-24 Phil. 2: 10-11). XI. SALVADOR: (Isaiah 43:11).
    • God Jesus
      Isaiah 43:3 Matthew 1:21; John 1:29
      1 Timothy 4:10 John 4:42; Hebrews 5:9
      Luke 1:47 Luke 2:11

      Titus 2:10,13; 3:4,6

  11. King: Expresses the majesty of God (Psalm 95: 3)

      1 Timothy 6: 14-16
