"The Living One is the provisioning of the land", a name given by Pharaoh, king of the world power; Egypt, to Joseph, the Hebrew.
This Israelite "slave", was the type of the one who would give spiritual provision, not only to his nation, but also to the whole world; from his descendants would be born the Christ, the anointed of God, to be salvation and light to a humanity desperately submerged in its deceptions, vanity, materialism and moral misery.
Thus, as the Egyptian people rejoiced over the "savior" who would deliver them from seven years of famine and scarcity, we rejoice because Jesus took and suffered the death we deserved.
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29 NKJV)
29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” (John 6:29 NKJV)
