To the Fallen, ...

On his way to run his errands, a young man suddenly stops when he hears a noise, the scandalous uproar of several people holding a thief in their hands; they beat him with sticks and kicks, shouting at him for the mistake he had made minutes before being captured. He immediately knelt down beside him to protect him with his arms and then asked his tormentors: "Why are you beating him so violently? For being a delinquent, they answer; do we deserve the same, then, for the sins we commit? The boy adds; how much does the watch cost to pay for it? He insists.

Then, and after recovering his belongings, the owner withdraws; and with her, the others; leaving him free. A colloquial but cruel expression, among the Latins is: "al caído, caele".

Romans 6:23 NKJV

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 8:3-7 NKJV

3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” 6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.

7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”

Luke 7:47 NKJV

47 Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”
