Kneeling, for a long time, she did not cease to weep and kiss the feet of the Holy God made man; she had already poured a costly perfume on the head of the Son of the Most High; but what is it that is really of value to the great master? Will the owner of the Universe, of life, of gold and silver, need something?
She dried with her long hair, the tears that fell on the precious feet of the Savior, pouring out her heart in sincere repentance and humble supplications, she expressed to the only one who treated her with purity, forgiveness and disinterestedness, the desire to be part of his disciples. What an admirable and exemplary disposition! She cared neither for her material possessions, nor for the criticism or contempt with which she would be regarded; she only longed to serve him and to be close, even for a while, to the one who lived love and transmitted peace.
Luke 7:36-38 NKJV
36 Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat. 37 And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, 38 and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.
Luke 14:11 NKJV
