Out of Gratitude

Juan Diego Jaramillo | July 13th, 2021

Someone, in a bold but sure way, said: "it is better to owe money than favors", and he was not far from the truth; it is a tendency to remember the services that were given to us with kindness; unselfishness, few people, have it as part of their principles or their idiosyncrasy.

When salvation is spoken of as a favor by divine quality that we did not deserve or an act based on love, some think that we are under the obligation to repay redemption in Christ by good works; how could we repay the priceless or the unlimited in affection and kindness?

We give our good deeds and possessions as an offering to God, because we find ourselves grateful and love him with all our heart.

Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Hosea 11:4 NKJV

4 I drew them with gentle cords,
With bands of love,
And I was to them as those who take the yoke from their neck.
I stooped and fed them.

John 14:15 NKJV

15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.

Mark 12:30 NKJV

30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.
