Salvation was first announced by the Lord, confirming the power of His love and the greatness of His mercies towards us, by means of admirable healings, the forgiveness of our transgressions for eternal salvation and giving us gifts of the Spirit. What if in Sodom they had spoken about the powerful name of Jesus or moreover, had known Him personally? It is difficult to propose conclusions; but the immutable truth is: we do have an incomparable opportunity to accept redemption in Jesus Christ and live in His glory for eternity.

Matthew 10:14-15 NKJV

14 And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!

Matthew 12:41-42 NKJV

41 The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. 42 The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.

Hebrews 2:1-4 NKJV

1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, 3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4 God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?
