Why, only the manifestation of the Presence of God, was given only once a year in the Holy of Holies of the Temple and only the high priest was a witness? It is a very interesting question to get to understand the type of adoration that in His perfect will he longed for His people to offer Him; Will the Holy One and Almighty God dwell in a temple, chapel or premises? Will He wait in such places for seven days or a year, until His people return? These are questions that apparently would be easy to solve and that should have been resolved in the church for a long time.
Considering with humility the sacred scriptures, this model of reverence, was never contemplated in the perfect mind of God; because He knew where this behavior would lead us. In Egypt, He dwelt in the houses of His people; His Company strengthened them for the unjust and hard tasks in this place. The objective of the "temple of Solomon" was to build "a house" for Him so that He could "live" in it.
Our exalted Creator desires to inhabit a mind and a heart ready at all times to recognize it as His living and main purpose; Could it be that with COVID-19, He is speaking to us to return to the New Testament example of gathering in the early church?
Acts 17: 24-25 NKJV
24 God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. 25 Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.
2 Samuel 7:4-7 NKJV
4 But it happened that night that the word of the Lord came to Nathan, saying, 5 “Go and tell My servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Would you build a house for Me to dwell in? 6 For I have not dwelt in a house since the time that I brought the children of Israel up from Egypt, even to this day, but have moved about in a tent and in a tabernacle. 7 Wherever I have moved about with all the children of Israel, have I ever spoken a word to anyone from the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people Israel, saying, ‘Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’ ” ’
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 NKJV
16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.
Romans 12:1-2 NKJV
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Acts 2:46 NKJV
46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart
