If there is something difficult to control, it is the flesh, alluding to the body; it is sensitive to behaviors and physical manifestations, as well as emotional; to pretend that we have already overcome all kinds of temptation attractive to the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes or the vainglory of life, would be lying to us; not in vain, the prayer of our Lord Jesus Christ is clear and forceful: "but deliver us from evil".
He is the one who, from the beginning to the end, fights and fights the battle for us, our strength and prompt help is and will be in his company. It is of utmost importance to keep in mind that many sins are posed through the eyes and the tongue, but an intimate relationship with the Most High God will lead us to the control of these two curious and weak members.
John 9:40-41 NKJV
40 Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, “Are we blind also?”
41 Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.
Proverbs 21:23 NKJV
23 Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles.
1 John 1:8-10 NKJV
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
Romans 7:19-25 NKJV
19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
