It is said that in the slave market, a strong young woman was sold for $190,000 dollars; some offered $100,000; others, $150,000. Until a man arrived, covered in fine attire, and placing the entire amount of money on the slaveholder's table, he exclaimed: I'll buy her! Then, the woman's promissory note was placed in his hands, making him the legal owner. The elegant personage, fixed his gaze on the slave to tell her, take the promissory note; you are free! And he began to leave the place.
She, surprised and confused, ran after him and kneeling down; without looking at him, she said: I wish to be your slave. He, extending his hand, helped her up; and thus, she was his servant, becoming heir to his great fortune.
In this world of needy attitudes and unbridled shady behavior, who would dare to give such a large amount of money for nothing? Could anyone bear this price of slavery by sacrificing his life?
Isaiah 53:4-5 NKJV
4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
John 10:17-18 NKJV
17 “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. 18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”
