Does God forgive me, being such a vile sinner? This is the question asked by someone desperate, guilty and without hope; the Creator only needs to feel a contrite and humiliated heart to give him the special opportunity to be at peace with Him.
A young man, who was the lieutenant of a feared and violent mafioso, asked a similar question: "I, who killed and dismembered many innocent young girls, throwing them in bags with stones into the sea, will I have the opportunity to attain God's favor? In truth, through man's judgment or opinion, it would be almost impossible for him to have the possibility of approaching Jesus Christ; but through the unconditional love of the Father, the situation is totally different. This is the joy we have in His goodness; for He does not think like man, therefore, He does not decide or act like man.
Psalms 103:17 NKJV
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children,
Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV
22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
Luke 23:41-43 NKJV
41 And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” 42 Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
Psalm 51:17 NKJV
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart — These, O God, You will not despise.
