The explanation of the origin of diseases has has been tried for centuries, resulting in a great controversy and varied opinions about it; there are more reasonable positions such as those set forth by medicine based on knowledge and application of this topic. I share with you today what the Book of books or Bible informs us in this regard: on occasions, the Master forgave sins before healing the sick, spoke that faith saves the sick and rebuked a fever; in the holy Book, it speaks of a spirit of sickness and Jesus cast out seven demons from an adulteress when he said to her: go and sin no more.
It could be concluded then that in some cases sickness is related to sin.
Matthew 9:1-7 NKJV
1 So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own city. 2 Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.”
3 And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, “This Man blasphemes!”
4 But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? 5 For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’? 6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” 7 And he arose and departed to his house.
Luke 4:38-39 NKJV
38 Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simon’s house. But Simon’s wife’s mother was sick with a high fever, and they made request of Him concerning her. 39 So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them.
Luke 13:11-13 NKJV
11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. 12 But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” 13 And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
Proverbs 3:7-8 NKJV
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
8 It will be health to your flesh,
And strength to your bones.
